You have already seen in public space that S. Skvernelis, R. Baškienė, L. Kukuraitis, L. Mogenienė, A. Stončaitis, L. Savickas, R. Miliūtė, T. Tomilinas, L. Nagienė, Z. Strike. They are forming a new faction, which in the near future will probably become part of some other party that complements the Liberal ranks. I feel obliged to write to you to inform you that I consider this action to be a natural purge that is produced both by the separation of values and by the political deductions that outgoing politicians have weighed. Looking at the totality of the speeches and actions that have been going on for a long time and only today became a departure fact, I cannot evaluate it any other way, ”wrote LVŽS leader R. Karbauskis.
He wrote that he did not regret the withdrawal of ten members of the LVŽS faction in the Seimas, and urged the party members not to regret it.
“But I am very sorry for you and the voters whom these people have misled. It is a pity that some people used the party pragmatically as much as they could, and when the party was no longer satisfied with some ambitions, they started looking for something else. ”, Commented R. Karbauskis about the reasons for his departure.
The politician said he told the media on Tuesday about Skrrenel’s previously unspoken attempts to obtain guarantees.
“I have already told the media today what I had previously kept quiet, as well as the fact that they pressured me to give Mr. Skvernel some assurances that he would not consider leaving. I don’t know how they would have satisfied S. Skvernelis, but as long as the party assigned its resources to him and his team, they did not need other guarantees, ”explained the party leader.
R. Karbauskis recalled that LVŽS allocated half a million euros to the electoral campaign of S. Skvernelis during the presidential elections.
“Many of them also dedicated themselves to the Seimas elections in the uninominal Vilnius, where neither he nor his companions won. Now, apparently, we are not so necessary, someone, apparently, someone else will give those guarantees that will be linked to the hopes of converting. in government ”, said the politician.
The head of LVŽS stated that former Prime Minister S. Skvernelis had several opportunities to become a member of the party.
“(…) but he did not do it deliberately, thinking about how he would be better. Here again, our difference became clear, what I have always said: for Lithuanian peasants and greens, the government is not an end in itself, but a means for Lithuania to follow the path of progress, “said the parliamentarian. .
The party leader also recalled the different views on the attitude towards the country’s leader, Gitan Nausėda.
“Of course, you and you have clearly seen that recently, my colleagues, the majority of the LVSS faction in the Seimas and Saulius have radically different views on the president, which, like us, means support for the traditional family. Recently, our views on the ability of family supporters to peacefully come together and on the work of those in charge, who raise many questions, have diverged. After 2016 there were many more differences of opinion in the election. When suddenly one or another point of our party’s program became unacceptable for the Prime Minister of the delegating party, I always tried to find compromises so that the program was fully implemented, ”wrote R. Karbauskis.

In a letter to party members, R. Karbauskis wrote that “we are the last parliamentary party where traditional family values are important, so we cannot disappoint the Lithuanian people who trust us.”

R. Karbauskis stressed that the party does not support “blackmail and the division of society, double standards and injustice, deceiving and forcing the Nation to renounce what is dear to it.”
He explained that if values were the reason for the departure of some colleagues, “they would support the ruling.”
“No compromises that go beyond conscience, humanity and commitment to the state are possible … If this has become a reason for withdrawal, there is no doubt that those who have left are inclined and will support those in power, “he said.
The LVŽS chief wrote that the decision of the faction’s colleagues to form a new faction weakens the opposition and “becomes a gift to the rulers.”

R. Karbauskis wrote in the hope that the parliamentarians who entered the Seimas with the list and the LVŽS program would resign not only from the work in the faction, but also from the mandate of a member of the Seimas.

That is what those politicians who withdrew from our group today when it was betrayed and lured by the conservatives by others. Party leader R. Karbauskis wrote that he was not afraid to say that although the LVŽS faction had declined, but “today we are stronger.”
