“We have discovered that an employee may have intentionally falsified the results of a SARS-COV2 antibody test to illegally provide a passport to certain people using non-blood samples,” says Medicus LT, a family medicine clinic.
As its director Audrius Kazlauskas told BNS on Wednesday, on Tuesday the possible falsification became clear, as explained by other employees of the institution.
“We discovered that our former employee was confusing the blood test data just for the reason that those people were obtaining the opportunity passport illegally,” said the clinic manager.
In his evaluation, it was not possible to take advantage of this opportunity on a large scale and therefore he could have falsified up to ten results.
According to A. Kazlauskas, the institution did not explain what relates said employee to the people whose samples may have been falsified and if she received any remuneration for it.
“We did an internal investigation the same day and quickly discovered that it was really happening. That employee admitted to having done it and we fired her for a serious breach of duty, ”said the director of the clinic.
According to him, he tried to involve more collaborators in these activities, but they refused to participate in illegal activities and reported him.
“Everything happened thanks to colleagues who did not hesitate to say so,” added the head of the clinic.
A. Kazlauskas said he did not want to name more precise positions held by the fired employee.

“We have received a letter from the director, now the circumstances will be clarified,” he said.
After clarification, it will be decided whether to open a pre-trial investigation into the case.
The government has decided that as of September 13, most services will only be available to those with a passport or COVID-19 certificate: those who have acquired immunity after a vaccination or illness, or those who have a negative test result. .
