His senior adviser agrees that ensuring the freedom of the population is critical, but so far it remains difficult to predict exactly when the restrictions can be expected to be lowered and the passport waived.

“We see in the third week that the vaccination rhythm slows down and this is really a very big signal that indicates the need to review the vaccination promotion strategy because obviously the current application was not as effective as we expected because there were months, weeks when we had 41 thousand. vaccinated per day, now we have 10-12 thousand. we will hardly reach it, ”says I. Segalovičienė.
According to her, the essence is a combination of certain indicators that scientists have to design together with researchers, so it would be more or less clear that certain indicators can be achieved, which would allow giving up the passport of options, and not the date. . one of them.
The government will continue to provide free trials to employees
Beginning September 13, workplace testing procedures will not change, meaning those who must take the test will be able to continue to do so for free; neither the employer nor the employee will have to worry about it. This is also supported by the Chief Advisor to the President.
“In Lithuania, in fact, both the level of wages and the indicators of poverty, social exclusion and inequality are quite high. The PCR test required for the Passport of Opportunities is extremely expensive, ranging between € 40 and € 80. It would be unaffordable for a large number of people, and it is prudent for the State to show solidarity with the population on this issue, ”he says firmly.
Gradually, certain groups of people will be vaccinated with a third dose or a booster dose: a booster dose will ensure that global immunity is not reduced and will allow those who have been vaccinated six months ago not to lose resistance to COVID-19.
