On Sunday afternoon, at Vilnius airport, SBGS officials detained a 23-year-old resident of the Tauragė district who had come from London on a flight and was sent for violating UK laws. During the inspection of the documents, it was established that the Alytus police were looking for him as a suspected criminal.
Border guards detained the man and took him to the airport’s firewall facility. The wanted group was then handed over to the convoy arriving from the search initiator.
Late in the afternoon on the same day at Vilnius airport, border guards detained a man who had arrived on a flight from Oslo. It turned out that a 23-year-old Tauragė resident who broke the law in Norway also has trouble with law enforcement in his homeland. He was wanted by the Tauragė police for more than three years. The detainee was questioned by border guards and received a summons to visit the initiator of the search.
In total, this year SBGS agents have already arrested 684 people wanted by Lithuanian and foreign law enforcement officials for various crimes or misdemeanors.
