The hobbyist fisherman’s card for salmon and sea trout is issued for one day and must be carried at the fishing location. Fishing in the river indicated on the card can start no more than one hour before sunrise and must be completed no more than one hour after sunset.

This card entitles the holder to take a salmon or sea trout (at least 65 cm) from September 1. until September 30 and from October 1. until October 15. all caught salmon and sea trout must be released even with a recreational angler card.

For salmon and sea trout fishermen, it should be noted that from September 16 to October 15. Fishing at the mouth of the main tributaries of the Neris, Šventoji, Jūra, Minija and Žeimena is also prohibited, as provided in the Rules for Amateur Inland Fishing.

After October 15. Limited fishing for salmon and sea trout is prohibited and amateur fishermen cards are no longer issued, and the ban on catching any fish goes into effect on many sections of rivers important for migration and spawning of salmon and sea trout in the Inland Fishing Regulations. . Salmon that have spawned and are returning to the Baltic Sea will be able to fish again from December 26.

Last year during the campaign, environmentalists conducted 351 raids and inspected 2,292 amateur fishermen. 20 fish ponds were also inspected.

During the campaign, 132 infractions of amateur fishing regulations were detected (54 of them serious), 5 infractions of commercial fishing, 1 use of fishing trails and another 72 infractions. Officials also took 150 gears: 77 from amateur fishing, 55 from non-amateur fishing, and 18 other gears.
