This labyrinth, according to the report, exceeded in 2009 both in its extension and in the length of its routes. Another labyrinth registered with the Lithuanian record (area 1.8 ha, trails about 2 km long, Užukampio village, Trakai district).

“The Corn Labyrinth has a special symbolic meaning for Labyrinth Park: it is the first maze from which the founder of the park, David Dili, had the idea of creating the entire Labyrinth Park more than a decade ago,” company representatives told Record Academy.

The idea of fighting for a Lithuanian record also occurred to David. Of course, without the help of the team, it would not have been possible: plotting measurements, drawing the maze, precisely moving the maze from a sheet of paper to a nearly 4-hectare corn field, leveling paths and adapting it for visitors to walk. .

Registering a record was not easy

After submitting a request to the Academy of Records to register the Lithuanian record, it became clear that … 500 m. labyrinth of trails. So the creators of the maze had to make an urgent decision about whether to make plans to move the log into next year or … cut additional trails.

“One of my colleagues said firmly: let’s do it!” – Julija Vaidakavičienė, Marketing Manager at Labirintų Park, shared her impressions. Well, as if the rainy days started on purpose … There was no time to wait for the sunny days, so the meters needed to reach the record (672 meters, you didn’t even need it!) Were cut by dropping the rain and not counting the weather. The Lithuanian record has been reached, it will be published in the book “The Most Interesting Lithuanian Records”, which will appear before Christmas.

How are labyrinths born?

The maze creation process is pretty simple at first glance – idea comes first. Then it becomes a drawing, a drawing. Well, and then it remains to “move it from reality” to a sheet of paper: the field and roads are carefully marked with stakes, and the road itself is cut by hand, usually with a lawn mower. The trails are level to make it easier for customers to walk.

Lost in the maze

When asked if they often have to rescue visitors lost in the labyrinth, the representatives of Labyrinth Park do not hide: even without thinking that it is almost 4 ha in size! “

Well, after a while, tired of wandering, they called for help from the staff. In almost a decade, there have been many curiosities about the activities of the company, “perhaps because of interesting people’s thinking, perhaps because of insufficient ability to understand the map.”

Mirrors, strips and … meditative mazes.

In addition to the record holder of the labyrinth, there are currently cannabis, willows, strips, mirrors and meditative-energy mazes in Labyrinth Park, according to a press release.

The mirror maze is a labyrinth that creates the illusion of infinity, where it is difficult to find a way, because around it – only the reflections of the visitor. The way out can only be found by manually checking where the mirror is.

“Walking through this maze, wherever your eyes are, you see your image. So even sci-fi fans should like it here; after all, they can’t always be found in rooms where they can see endless copies of theirs, ”company representatives intrigue.

The exit of the strip maze is found wandering among the many hanging colored strips. Visibility in it, not beyond your nose. You roll your hands, spread the strips and hope that you’ve already found your way to the exit and suddenly find yourself at a dead end again. Although the maze is small, not everyone is lucky enough to find a way out; It often happens that you do not know how you do not end at the end of the maze, but return to its beginning.

The meditation energy maze is a classic, it is impossible to get lost, because the bare path leads to the center. It is believed that by walking through it and concentrating on the steps, you will find answers to life’s most difficult questions.
