Lithuania said goodbye to legendary pop star Nelly Paltiniene. Early in the morning, people who knew and admired the prima donna gathered at the Bernardine Church in Vilnius. On Tuesday at noon, the singer was accompanied on her last trip: she lay down in the Antakalnis cemetery, on the Artist’s Hill, to rest forever.
The urn with the remains of N. Paltinienė was removed immediately after mass. Until then, everyone gathered to say goodbye to the singer with bright thoughts and resounding prayers.
The priest Arūnas Peškaitis, who knew the singer closely, also greeted the bereaved in the church.
Liveta Kazlauskienė, the good friend of N. Paltinienė, also attended mass with her husband Petras.
Other famous people, such as Edmundas Kučinskas, Vytenis Pauliukaitis, Vidas Mačiulis, Viktoras Malinauskas, Judita Leitaitė and others, were able to meet at the funeral.
After 12 p.m. The mass urn that had taken place with the remains of the prima donna echoed with loud applause was removed from the church.
The car carrying the urn and a large crowd moved through the streets of Vilnius. Participants went to the Antakalnis cemetery to say the last “goodbye”.
At the artist’s grave, the artist’s relatives shared heartbreaking memories. Probably the most sensitive moment on the Artist’s Hill was when E. Kučinskas once again asked everyone to have first gifts and sang the well-known song “For Those Who …”.
