Jerusalem’s Hapoel team continues their work in the off-season and managed to attract a basketball player of NBA caliber.

The club officially announces that it has signed a one-year contract with the 24-year-old 213cm tall Thon Maker.
Last season, the tall one defended the Cleveland Cavaliers, but played just 8 games and recorded 3.8 points and 2.9 rebounds.
In 2016, Maker was selected to the 10th Milwaukee Bucks by the NBA rookie.
The best season of the center’s career was 2018-2019, when he accumulated 5 points and 3.2 rebounds for the Milwaukee Bucks and Detroit Pistons.
The club also announces that the first call-up for the 2013 NBA Rookie Exchange, Anthony Bennett, has also arrived in Jerusalem.
The club is reported to have retained the option to terminate the contract during the season.
The 28-year-old, 203-centimeter NBA forward has spent four years playing for clubs such as the Clavland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets.
The best for the forward was the 2014-2015 season at the Minnesota Timberwolves, when the basketball player scored 5.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in an average of 15 minutes.
After a failed experience, NBA Bennett decided to try his luck in Europe and in 2017 he joined Fenerbahche Istanbul and became Euroleague champion.
However, the Canadian’s contribution to the victory was not great: 1.2 points and 0.9 rebounds in 6 minutes on the court.
In the summer of 2021, Bennett defended the honor of the Canadian team in the Olympic qualifiers and scored an average of 0.7 points, 1 rebound and 0.7 assists in three games.
Hapoel was also joined by Sean Kilpatrick, who spent last season at Gran Canaria’s Las Palmas club and scored 7.7 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 6.3 utility points in 19 minutes.
Next season, Hapoel will compete in the Israel Championship and the FIBA Champions League. The Jerusalem team entered Group B, where they will compete with Manresa BAXI, Pinar Karšiyaka of Izmir and Ostrów Stal.
