Residents who consume between 1,000 kWh and 5,000 kWh of electricity per year must choose an independent electricity provider by December 18, 2021.
As the Energy Research Institute explains, this will affect many, even those who live alone, as it is distributed between 84 and 85 kWh per month.
Facebook’s Energy Research Institute calculated how the population’s electricity bills would be if they chose one or the other provider.
It was explained that certain conditions were also chosen for the calculations. The first is the choice of discounted rates, which are usually provided by suppliers when entering into a long-term supply contract. In these cases, there was also a fixed 24-month manual fee. contract.
The second thing, as said, is that the calculations were made by taking 200 kWh and 300 kWh of electricity consumption per month, which corresponds to the energy consumption of a family of 2-4 people.
The third thing is that when comparing prices, the ratio of day and night electricity consumption was also chosen, which corresponds to 60%. day and 40 percent. at night. A fee is applied to a fee area.
The table shows that when a person chooses the rate for a time zone, the resident would receive the largest bill from the Ignitis company, both for consuming 200 kWh and 300 kWh. The amounts would reach EUR 37 and EUR 54 per month, respectively.
The lowest bills are expected by choosing an electricity supplier from Perlas Energija. Here, 200 kWh would cost 34.6 euros and 300 kWh, 50.4 euros. Those who chose Enefit and Elektrum would have to pay a few euros more for electricity.
For those who choose to calculate the fare for two time zones, the situation does not change significantly. Here, according to publicly available rates, the most expensive would also have to pay for Ignitis services. 200 kWh would cost 36.08 Eur per month, and for 300 kWh it would cost 52.62 Eur.
The lowest rates in this case are also offered by the company Perlas Energija. Here, 200 kWh would cost 34.72 euros and 300 kWh, 50.58 euros per month.
The Energy Research Institute has cautioned that the calculation results are preliminary, based on data currently available to the public, and the institute itself is not affiliated with any independent electricity provider or any other energy company.
Delfi recalls that in 2020 May 7 The Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, on the basis of the regulations of the European Union, adopted amendments to the Electricity Law. According to them, the regulation of retail electricity prices for domestic consumers will be phased out.
By 2023, all residents of the country will have to choose a provider.
