Radvilė Morkūnaitė – Mikulėnienė, the largest of the Lithuanian Christian National-Democratic Union (TS-LKD) faction in the Seimas, stated on the “Info Day” program that the first part of the protest also caused anxiety and surprise.
“Those events consisted of several elements. We all probably agree that in a free and democratic country, expressing one’s opinion and position is respectable. However, not so much the form of the daily rally, but the content provoked anxiety and amazement. Immediately they grew bitter and certain slogans were chanted. Certain gestures directed at the windows of the Seimas and signs of suffocation are shown.
This is one, but what happened in the night has gotten worse and gotten even more complicated. I see this as a threat to the state and statehood, “said the politician.
R. Morkūnaitė – Mikulėnienė stated that she is not comfortable working with the MPs who encouraged the protest.
“We constantly hear certain vocabulary in the Seimas. Colleague P. Gražulis had also brought the funeral wreath to the Seimas. Mr. Puidokas, several other colleagues who did not hide and came out to speak, incited the participants to assault the Seimas in a manner more active.Gather the Government.
But after that, they find it difficult to get out of the entrances to the Seimas. I see this as deplorable behavior. I understand that someone trusts her, they are elected to the Seimas in the same democracy. But I don’t feel comfortable with such colleagues ”, assured the curator.
Puidokas and Gedvil were quick to distance themselves from the “second” part of the protest, the riots in parliament.
Seimas member P. Gražulis was also involved in the western part of the riots. According to R. Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė,
“It just came to our attention then. As I mentioned, the artistic means of the rally were questionable. The same people, if they distanced themselves from the riots, incited and supported those people that very night. I don’t know how sincere those apologies are.
But if the events that were incited by the members of the Seimas themselves are recorded in the police material or elsewhere, I think that the Seimas should decide. Do people who have such intentions have to work at the Seimas? I mean – act against the state, “- said R. Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė, the eldest of the TS-LKD faction.
He said he managed to get out of the Seimas immediately after parliament on Tuesday.
But the experiences of my other colleagues are much more dramatic. We are living in truly strange times, when people have to deal with these threats and attacks of aggression peacefully because of the beliefs they express. I understand that on the day of the rally there were different people who sincerely believed what they were talking about.
But we see more of a rally where things intertwine. And, basically, it is no longer content on one topic or another. But the actions are aimed at destabilizing the situation in the state, ”said R. Morkūnaitė – Mikulėnienė on the“ Info Day ”program.
