On August 16, Liaščenia expressed its support for the peaceful protests of Belarusian citizens after the elections and called on the authorities to investigate all cases of torture and beatings of protesters, and a few days later resigned.
In September, the Minsk regime deprived I. Liaščenija of the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary – “for acts degrading the state (diplomatic) service”.
I.Liaščenia has worked in the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1994, where she held various positions. He has worked as an ambassador in a chain of countries. From 2002 to 2006, Liaščenia was Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Foreign Economy.
I. Liaščenia was appointed ambassador to Slovakia in 2016.
