On his Facebook account, M. Laurinavičius announced the end of a stage and the beginning of a new stage.

“With this publication, I want to announce that my professional journey together with the Vilnius Institute of Political Analysis has ended.

I would like to sincerely thank all (and each one individually) colleagues with whom I had to work with VPAI, ”he wrote.

He also stated that he looked forward to doing some really meaningful work with his former colleagues and that he had managed to contribute to the growth that the Vilnius Institute for Policy Analysis had shown in Lithuania in the very few ranks of so-called “study centers” “this year.

“I wish the institute many more meaningful activities in the future. And I am turning to more individual activities, albeit in the same area of Russian research, analysis and consulting.

“My direct work will probably not be as publicly visible, but I will really try not to disappear from the public space – I will not refuse to comment to the media, if necessary, I will publish my thoughts and observations on the same topics as before,” said M. Laurinavičius .

He also shared that he really hopes to revive the YouTube channel.

“In a word, I hope that not much will change in the public space – I will simply no longer be able to publish my analysis not only on my own behalf, but also on behalf of VPAI.

But I can immediately disappoint those who will try to look for some kind of conflict or something like that. My personal relationship with VPAI is not really broken, it just ended the employment relationship. So I’m starting a new professional phase, “said the policy reviewer.

When Delfi contacted M. Laurinavičius, he said that his future plans were to participate in the same activities, only on the basis of more individual activities.

“I hope not to reduce my presence in public space, but perhaps to increase it. Of course, it will depend on the workload, ”he explained.

M. Laurinavičius also noted that he does not intend to get away from Russian troubles, as this is not only a job for him, but also a hobby.

It was also unable to disclose exactly what work it is currently doing due to confidentiality obligations.
