However, the institution shared a general explanation of how sickness benefit is calculated with Sodra funds.

Its specialists point out that for insured residents who have been temporarily incapacitated for work due to the person’s own illness or injury, the sickness benefit during the first 2 calendar days of incapacity for work, which coincides with the working hours of the worker, is the responsibility of the employer. .

“The sickness benefit from the Sodra funds, equivalent to 62.06 percent of the beneficiary’s compensatory income, is paid from the third day of incapacity for work and is paid until the person recovers or the level of compensation is determined. working capacity. Sickness benefit is paid regardless of the duration of the illness, regardless of whether the person has been temporarily disabled for 7 days or for a full month.

The amount of sickness benefit is calculated individually on the basis of the person’s insured income during the three consecutive months prior to the month preceding the month in which the certificate of incapacity for work was issued. For example, if the certificate of incapacity for work is issued in November, the insured income received in July, August and September is taken into account ”, added the institution in a letter.
