The image is not from Lithuania at all.
Portal rubaltic.ru An impressive photo was supposed to catch the eye of readers on Thursday. It shows many people lined up in a wide line.
At the front of the line are several special police officers wearing bulletproof vests, helmets and shields. On one back it bears the inscription “Police”, so it gives the impression that a row of people was photographed in our country.
This should also be understood by the title: “The Vilnius storm and the resignation of the Government: What is the immigrant crisis in Lithuania leading to”. It was also available in one of the top positions on the website on Friday noon, only to find itself a little lower later.
While the text writes about the current situation in our country, the photo captures a completely different event.

The font of the photo is indicated in lowercase letters in the corner of the photo: wsj.com. This is the website of the popular American newspaper The Wall Street Journal.
However, the photo is not from this newspaper (and it is unlikely that permission to republish it was obtained).
Online image search engines show that this photo was used already in 2015. Probably the first of the texts found to illustrate it was published in 2015. at the end of October on the portal america.aljazeera.com.
In the article “With the arrival of 12 thousand refugees, Slovenia asks for help from the EU” This Balkan country is said to have sought help when so many foreigners came from Croatia in one day.
Below, the photo shows police escorting refugees through the town of Dobova, near the Slovenian-Croatian border. It is taken from Getty Images by Jeff Mitchell.
The photograph in question is the main illustration of the article, but a gallery of 16 photographs (not only from Slovenia) is published here. They were probably made (in Slovenia at least) at that time, in late October.
This can be understood by the relatively warm clothing of the people and the lack of air. This is the first detail that makes it possible to doubt that the image is from Lithuania, what impression they are trying to create.

There should be no deception by the note on the officer’s back. “Police” is written in the same way in Slovenian.
Calls for the border to be opened to the West
Analysis portal on the Baltic region rubaltic.ru The article provides information on the migration crisis in Lithuania in a biased way, paying close attention to explanations that a change of government is needed and calls for violations of international documents.
Reviewer Aleksejus Iljaševičius interpreted in, that “the situation of immigrants in Lithuania is no longer under control.”
“Uninvited guests from North Africa and the Middle East are not ashamed to proclaim their rights out loud, the uprisings in refugee camps have become a systemic phenomenon.
It cannot be ruled out that in the autumn an illegal army of several thousand will draw Vilnius into the storm and cause a serious political crisis in Lithuania. “
According to the Department of Statistics, the vast majority of recent illegal immigrants in Lithuania are from the Middle East (more than 2000 from Iraq, almost 100 from Syria.
He goes on to say that migrants do not stop flowing across the Lithuanian-Belarusian border, even in places where a fence has been installed. Giedrius Mišutis, representative of the State Border Guard Service, spoke about these cases. Three citizens from Congo, Cameroon and Guinea managed to cross the fence.
The author says that migrants are not ashamed to proclaim their rights out loud. Ignalina recalled cases in which several dozen people at the Alien Registration Center in Pabradė behaved aggressively and tried to escape from the camp, Ignalina refused to eat.
Migrants are said to already have their own leaders and a state within the state.
“If the current dynamics are maintained, the number of illegal immigrants in Lithuania may reach tens of thousands already in autumn,” threatens the article. – Then the situation will become not only tense, but “explosive”.
During july more than 1,500 were arrested. migrants. In recent weeks, border guards have detained between 20 and 170 people who have entered Lithuania illegally.
There are already a little more than 3,000 of them. But, counting one way or another, according to the current worst trends, this number could rise to 5-8 thousand. So the portal’s intimidation of tens of thousands of migrants is exaggerated.

A.Iljaševičius explains that Lithuania “basically will not have enough strength to stop a multitude of dissatisfied refugees.”
The idea of Alexei Dzermant, a Belarusian political scientist considered in favor of the Alexander Lukashenko regime, is quoted as saying that “this whole gang will attract to storm a big city, probably Vilnius, due to cold, hunger and despair.”
This is how the migration crisis will turn into politics. Finally, the article raises the question: “If the government headed by Ingrida Šimonytė cannot solve this problem, who needs such a government?”
Since the target of most immigrants is Western Europe, Iljaševičius asks to follow Lukashenko’s example and “allow immigrants peaceful access, for example, to Polish territory or to the sea directly to Germany”.
