Martin Geben is going to play Germany

The 26-year-old 208cm midfielder stood idly by Bamberg’s Brose Baskets, who compete in Germany’s strongest basketball league (BBL).

The news was posted on Twitter by the club itself.

“Martín will give us more strength and physicality under the basket. Besides being very strong, he also stands out for finishing shots in various situations ”, highlighted team strategist Johan Roijakkers.

Both parties agreed to a one-year contract.

M. Geben came to Kaunas in 2018 after studying at the University of Notre Dame in the United States of America.

The basketball player was initially loaned out to the Juventus club from Utena, but after showing his skills there, he returned to Kaunas and eventually earned the role of reserve center forward.

In the last Euroleague season, the Vilnius resident spent an average of 8 minutes on the floor, during which he accumulated 3.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 4.5 utility points.

Lithuanian Basketball League center the averages were significantly higher: within 15 min. he scored 7.3 points, bounced 4.7 balls and amassed 10.7 profit points each.

Previously, another Lithuanian Arnoldas Kulboka (2015-2019) also competed at the Bamberg Club.

The Žalgiris team now has three central forwards: Joffrey Lauvergne, Marek Blaževičius and newcomer Josh Nebo.
