The politician interviewed late at night claims that neither he nor the Šalčininkai district municipality were aware of the protest campaign. He called such actions a provocation.
“Now our people, the municipalities, go to the place. We do not know who organized that campaign, the municipality has not issued any permits, nor has it received any request for a demonstration. As far as I know, there are practically no locals there, after coming from Kaunas, Vilnius, it is said that“, – Said Delfi V. Tomaševskis.
He personally says such drastic forms of protest: keep the roads, don’t let the technique be unsupportive.
“Our position was also in the municipality (we spoke – aut. Past). That we understand the situation in the state. It is very difficult and we have to be state property. In our opinion, when there is an empty territory of 5000 ha of the landfill, it is nothing that a camp of illegal tents is temporarily located there.“Said V. Tomaševskis.
The politician described the protest, when physical force was used against the assembled rallies, as a provocation.
“I think it is a provocation when someone tries to say that yes, the Poles are doing destruction against the state. We distance ourselves, we do not organize this, we think that the village (tents – automatic past) can really be accommodated“, – said V. Tomaševskis.
Meanwhile, Commissioner General of Police Renatas Požėla stated that „it was necessary to use special measures when people illegally blocked the road, endangering traffic safety ”.
According to the chief of police, ten people have been arrested and protocols will be drawn up for violation of the administrative law. Liability for non-compliance with the instructions of legal officials will also be decided.
„We know them, it can be said, our clients.“, – R. Požėla did not give details about the detainees.
