Dispatchers from the Belaeronavigacija navigation services company said their colleague Oleg Galegov was no longer at work.

Galegov, who has worked for the company for at least 11 years, had to go back to work in early June after the holidays, but did not show up for work.

One of Oša Galegov’s colleagues who spoke to Nasha Niva speculated that she may have left the country, perhaps with relatives in Sakartvela.

Naša Niva journalists found O. Galegov’s account on the social network Instagram. He changed his username, deleted almost all of his followers, and did not have a photo to identify him.

On May 23, a Ryanair passenger plane flying from Athens to Vilnius was forced to land in Minsk after Belarusian dispatchers lied about an alleged explosive on board.

Romanas Protasevičius, one of the founders of the important news channel Nexta, and his girlfriend Sofia Sapega, who studied in Vilnius, were arrested after the plane landed.

Ryanair director Michael O’Leary said the landing in Minsk was a “pre-planned violation of all international aviation rules.”

“When the plane landed in Minsk, several unidentified people with video cameras entered,” said the head of Ryanair.

“These people kept trying to force the crew in front of the cameras to confirm that they had decided to direct the plane to Minsk themselves, but the crew members refused to do so,” O’Leary added.

“The environment was hostile and threatening. Finally, after about eight hours, we got off the plane from Minsk, “said M. O’Leary, confirming that five passengers, R. Protasevičius, S. Sapega and three other people, had not returned to Vilnius.
