K. Lozoraitis was the first Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Holy See and the Order of Malta. He died in 2007 at the age of 78.
The president expressed his condolences.
On Sunday, President Gitanas Nausėda expressed his condolences on the death of G. Pignatelli-Lozoraitis, the artist’s widow, restorer and ambassador Kazys Lozoraitis.
“In our memory, G. Pignatelli-Lozoraitis will continue to be a friend of Lithuania, reaching out to her in the most difficult moments. Together with her husband, K. Lozoraitis, she dealt with the restoration of the independence of Lithuania, raised the issue of occupation of Lithuania and its non-recognition in Italy and the Vatican, ”said the president.
The President expresses his deepest condolences to all the family and friends of Pignatelli-Lozoraitis.
2017 G. Pignatelli-Lozoraitis received the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Lithuania.
