On Friday, some of the participants who came to the festival were so relaxed that they did not even capture the surroundings: some wanted to swim in the sky, others, to jump into the water from bicycles. It later turned out that the reason for all the fun was alcohol.
The fun continued on Saturday as well. On Saturday, many drunk vacationers had to be disciplined on the beaches of Klaipeda, and several even had to be invited to leave the beach.
Aleksandras Siakki, deputy director of the Klaipdos Beaches public institution, which manages the beaches of Klaipėda, said that on Saturday, most of the vacationers from other cities came to rest by the sea. “I have already tried to separate the residents of Klaipeda and they are very different from the newcomers.
Klaipėda residents are more disciplined and bathe more carefully, and do not consume alcoholic beverages in forbidden places. I can even distinguish the inhabitants of our city from the bathing suits. On Saturday, most of the residents who are not from Klaipėda came to the sea, ”said A. Siakki.
After driving along the seashore from the north pier to the Memel Nord battery in the village of Kukliškės, I noticed that many people were consuming alcoholic beverages, bringing four-legged pets, or not taking care of bathing their children.
Most surprised foursome of grown men drinking vodka! Explaining that it was forbidden to do it on the seashore, which is a public place, the rescuers encountered an unexpected obstacle: the men were deaf and mute. Although they indicated with gestures that they had no intention of bathing, it was also explained with gestures that they would have to pour vodka or leave the beach. The men chose the second alternative.
Two elderly couples who, according to other vacationers, had already “absorbed” two bottles of strong alcoholic beverages, were also asked to leave the beach. At first, they defended themselves without taking a drop, but warned that a police team would be called in that would have to establish sobriety as much as possible, the individuals withdrew.
On the other hand, the resident of Panevėžys, who had already had “fun”, attacked the rescuers for interfering with his rest and had no right to wake him up. He named the pink drink left in the disposable container, which was later turned into Spanish wine, cherry juice. However, he refused to leave the beach. He did not listen to requests from either his friend or his wife not to have a fever. The man warned rescuers that they would be sad when they reached Panevėžys. Only after lengthy negotiations did loved ones bring out the fortress.
There were not one or two who brought their drinks to the beaches on Saturday to quench their growing thirst.
At night, the action moved to the city center. The Dangė River became the hub of the celebration, where the historic ship regatta took place, and the concert at the Cruise Terminal was even seen from the North Cape. Several pleasure boats buzzed on the river itself, with no shortage of cheerful Danes with sparkling “fuzers” in hand and cheerful men sipping drinks from cans.
The boats that rented pedal boats posed a great danger to traffic, and some even dared to “wisely” to the Curonian lagoon. More than one person was involved in more than one of the aforementioned crafts, and some of them even consumed alcoholic beverages.
Rescuers patrolled Heaven all night, ready at any moment to rush to the rescue of the fiercest participants. At the end of the Marijus Mikutavičius concert, at 1 o’clock, the crowd began to divide. At least water-related incidents have been avoided.
