However, the biggest change is visible among the Social Democrats: the party would support 9.9 percent in June. surveyed and this is 2.7 percent. more than in May.
Political scientists interviewed by the tv3.lt news portal are united: this increase was determined by the newly elected party leader Vilija Blinkevičiūtė.
“They got rid of the toxic asset. I mean, Palucko. It was a gift to all other political forces, as he simply ate from the inside. socdemus – ruined, thrown over the edge. It’s over. Lithuania needs a left-wing social democratic agenda, which Paluckas was unable to deliver with his fictitious campaign, ”says political scientist Bernaras Ivanovas.
He highlighted two reasons for the rise in audience ratings for Social Democrats.
Supporting B. Ivanov, the political scientist Lauras Bielinis says that the rise of the Social Democrats was determined by V. Blinkevičiūtė, whose opinion, in his opinion, is good, favorable and “this somehow provoked a favorable attitude towards the leader and the The Social Democrats themselves “.
The second reason he cites is the internal election procedure in the Social Democratic Party, which has led to quite a wide debate both within the party and in society.
“There has been a lot of discussion about them: how they should behave, who should be elected. Therefore, the public has paid more attention to them, so we see that the attitude towards them has changed,” says the political scientist.
Speaking of V. Blinkevičiūtė, B. Ivanovas emphasizes that she is a person whose actions are difficult to criticize: She was able to share that with socdemais ».
“Probably the part of society that sympathizes with the social democratic side, that doesn’t really want demagoguery in the sense of state governance, but really, a welfare state, which the Presidency is only imitating. If no major mistakes are made in the future, Blinkevičiūtė could be a steam engine that will lift the party out of the deep, ”he adds.
At the top of the ranking is the Union of Peasants and Greens of Lithuania
Although the ratings of the Social Democratic Party differed by almost three percent, they were outperformed by the leaders: LVŽS, which would be supported by 14.8 percent. respondents and TS-LKD, who would receive slightly less support: 13.5 percent. respondents failed. The Social Democratic Party ranks third.
The advance of the LVŽS ahead does not surprise political scientists, on the contrary – being the leaders of the opposition at the top of the ranking – it is usual.

L. Bielinis also sees two reasons here.
The first, according to him, is related to LVŽS, the second – to TS-LKD.

According to the political scientist, the difference between the ruler and the opposition is not critical: “the delay is small, in the context of the errors, and this can be seen as a stable presence of high-level conservatives,” Bielinis added.
The problematic road is viewed negatively by the Government
In May, 38.1% of those surveyed evaluated the Government positively or rather positively; in June, this figure reached 37.6%.
Bielinis says it’s a small drop and doesn’t think the rulers should worry about it.
“In a way, the Government should be proud that in such difficult situations, when a pandemic restricts the economy, social life, several ties are broken, we isolate ourselves, however, the attitude towards this Government is not so bad. It is more of a victory than a defeat or a fall, “he says.
According to Ivanov, a slight drop in the government’s ratings is normal, but it is strange that this rating is extremely negative.
“We have an exceptionally very high negative rating here and, if I am not mistaken, Mr. Gaidys, the director of Vilmorus, has noticed the same thing before. And that trend persists.” This is the biggest well for this government in general, I would pay attention to that, “he adds.
Some ministers say it is “politically toxic and has a very strong impact on the government itself.”
“I think toxicity is only going to increase and the government has a chance to hit the record in a negative sense. But again, a little later, in the fall.
