The protest is organized by teacher Astra Genovaitė Astrauskaitė, who painted the Freedom Hill design in Vilnius Lukiškės square with the organization of controversial rallies. It is claimed that the Lithuanian Family Movement, which organized the “Great Family March” in Vingis Park, is also contributing to the event.
“Today we will not sing hymns, today we will fight,” said Astra Genovaitė Astrauskaitė before the march.
The conflict was not avoided
The protesters, who gathered in Vilnius Cathedral Square at 11 o’clock, stood in lines for the word “fight” to form by photographing from above. However, it was difficult for the participants to form this word, and a cameraman filming the rally caused the displeasure of the organizer Astra Genovaitė Astrauskaitė, because she did not leave, there was a suspension, she said that the cameraman hit her.
The situation was soon dispelled by the arriving police officers, but Astra Genovaitė Astrauskaitė demanded the name of the operator and said it would write a statement.
Later, a large crowd of protesters marched down Gediminas Avenue to the Seimas and would return to the rally at the Government House in Plaza V. The march is accompanied by police forces.
During the march, the protesters chanted “Government of Šimonytė to jail”, “Shika of Landsbergis to jail”, “Terrorists to jail”. Later, when they arrived at the Seimas, the rally participants chanted “Seimas lauk.”
“All this power must come out,” said the initiator of the event. The shout screamed the support of famous rallies.
The protesters held signs proclaiming that “the desire for freedom will not be crushed even by tanks”, “PCR tests should not be used for testing”, “Do not destroy freedom of expression” and other posters against government decisions .
“Nice propaganda, lies, virus intimidation, quarantines, police, army and thousands of fines. It is enough to mock us, to trample on the Constitution of Lithuania! “
As during the rally in Vingis Park, protesters demanded the resignation of the government on Saturday. This time, the mayor of the city of Vilnius, Remigijus Šimašius, must also resign.
“Let only volunteers participate in the experiment, test and vaccinate, and this government and the mayor of Vilnius R. Šimašis by coercion and repression (creation of coercive” conditions “for testing and vaccination, imposition of fines, promised dismissal, layoffs), violation of Lithuanian Constitution “It is time to resign before the rebels resign,” protesters said.
