Passengers wishing to take buses from Smiltyne to Nida on Curonian Spit have had to pay more in euros for three weeks. “Vakarų ekspresas” received several calls with questions about the passengers, why the price suddenly changed, if a few weeks ago the ticket was still 4 euros.
It turned out that the rates have changed since July 1. – such decision was made by the City Council of Neringa.
“Neringa City Council on May 20. decided at the meeting to satisfy the request of the individual company of the carrier E.Zinkevičius – to increase the fare for the transport of passengers on the local transport bus route Nida-Smiltynė.
June 23 At the Board meeting, new ticket prices were approved, taking into account that during the quarantine, the carrier, although operating at a loss due to the reduction in passenger traffic, invested in the purchase of new buses and improved quality of the services provided, ”explained Neringa. the spokeswoman for the municipality, Lina Pusvaškytė.
As a result, as of July 1. All single tickets for bus trips around the Curonian Spit became more expensive: from 30 cents to 1.05 euros.
For example, currently from Smiltyne to Alksnyne it costs euros (it was 0.65 euros), to Juodkrante – 2 euros (it was 1.4 euros), Pervalka – 3.5 euros (it was 2.6 euros), Preila – 4 euros ( It was 3.3 euros), Nida – 5 euros (it was 4 euros).
Movement between settlements in the municipality of Neringa is also more expensive.
For example, a trip to Preila-Pervalka instead of 0.7 euros costs EUR, Alksnynė-Preila costs 3.5 euros (instead of 2.6 euros), Alksnynė-Pervalka costs 3 euros instead of 1.95 euros . All the new fares, as well as the prices of the discounted tickets, can be found on the website of the municipality of Neringa, in the “Resident” section.
According to L.Pusvaškytė, these rates are reviewed by the Neringa City Council at least once a year, taking into account changes in transport costs and income.
