While the church is investigating whether the priest has really been able to exploit the boy, a clergyman suspected of pedophilia has been removed from the priesthood. However, the church refrains from more detailed comments.
The 29-year-old artist Denis does not hide his face and agrees to tell the horror that he lived almost twenty years ago in a Catholic camp in Aukštadvaris. The camp was for children from disadvantaged families, but there, as Denis says, he was sexually harassed.
He, then, for another decade, was sexually exploited by no one but a man, a priest, with whom TV3 still could not be contacted, so we will not reveal his first and last name yet. To this day, he served in the church of Blessed Jurgis Matulaitis in Vilnius. The clergyman, according to Denis, initially only stroked his head and abdomen. Other actions followed.
“So it seemed like you were something special. But the physical action itself, when he put his hands on me while I was sleeping in shorts, I did not understand what it was, I did not know what masturbation was. But that was exactly what it was. This was repeated several times, and later the next night, it changed to other forms, ”says Denis Kolomycki, an artist who has suffered for the priest.
Other forms then intimidated for a decade as they also caused physical pain.
“It just came to our notice then. Then I felt the big hand touches that were hard on me and hurt me. And then I asked to be able to go out and go to my room. also, speaking Polish, he said that he was grown up and that nothing bad had happened ”, he continues.
The boy remembers that the educators of the field spoke about the pain and the actions of the priest.
“She was shy, but I told her what had happened, she denied it and said she was lying that it was not true. She said the priest couldn’t do that in any way, ”Denis says.
But neither the priest nor the camp educator, along with Denis and the other children, appeared at the common table until the end of the camp. In the church of Blessed Jurgis Matulaitis today, after hearing that a man who had once abused a child could work here, some parishioners shake their heads, others are not bothered by such priests:
“Children are an example, both learning and teaching them, and if they were to lead, it would be a trauma for the children. You can’t trust one person, so in the end, the trust of the whole church is diminishing. “
“I really like this.”
Denis will not resort to the forces of order, he does not seek to destroy him, he only asks for their example of not remaining silent and of making his experiences known. And just as he says, he heard more than one in April of this year. Denis submitted a request to the Archdiocese of Vilnius regarding his case and asked to investigate his case.
The church listened to the boy, but communicates with the media only in writing: “July 8. Upon receipt of the application, the applicant was contacted the next day and an appointment was made. July 9 A preliminary investigation was launched into the case and, pending the investigation, the priest named in the complaint was removed from his public office. After the study in the diocese, the material will be sent to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in the Vatican, which will provide instructions for future actions. “
