Promises more new services
Patients will not be affected by these reorganizations either by the GP or the place where the service is provided, with the exception of new emerging services. According to the management specialists of the Lazdynai and Karoliniškės polyclinics, who have been competing so far, only happiness will take over the most robust and innovative solutions from two medical institutions, mobilizing the best specialists, as well as financial resources and doctors.
Meanwhile, residents will continue to have select family physicians, consulting physicians, a laboratory, dentists, X-ray exams, and all other specialists close to their homes. At the same time, they will receive many new services, which until now the Lazdynai Polyclinic was unable to offer due to financial constraints, lack of specialists and, finally, limited infrastructure. They will be provided on the premises of the Karoliniškės Polyclinic. After the merger of the Karoliniškės and Lazdynai polyclinics, the number of patients in the new institution will exceed 85 thousand.
The plans to merge the Naujininkai Polyclinic and Naujoji Vilnia were determined by the size and similarity of these institutions. When they are young, they both face similar problems in providing services to the population: there is a lack of services from both family doctors and secondary-level specialists, as it is difficult to guarantee the full-time workload of all specialists necessary and attract them to work in general. The modernization of these institutions and the renewal of medical equipment are also stalling.
It is expected that merging them into a single legal entity (but without changing their physical location) will solve all these problems, thus improving the availability of services. The joint polyclinic will be able to strengthen the attraction of medical personnel: actively seek young specialists, attract promising medical specialists and nurse specialists by motivational means.
Some services (family doctors, some specialist doctors) are expected to be duplicated, but part of the services provided by secondary-level specialists will be concentrated in one of the delivery sites, where the necessary medical equipment will be concentrated. This will allow a more efficient use of resources between the two institutions, avoid the duplication of some services and some activities (for example, establishing a common laboratory for both institutions, connecting the IT infrastructure and establishing a common call center), as well as more rational use of limited financial resources. The preliminary number of registered patients would exceed 46,000. Currently, both institutions have around 23,000 of them.

There is no direct connection between Naujininkai and Naujoji Vilnia, but it is convenient to drive high-speed buses on routes 3G and 6G, stopping at the Green Bridge stop. Naujininkai Polyclinic is located next to Naujininkai Station and Naujoji Vilnia Polyclinic is within walking distance of Geniai Station.
