The artist’s vein
Miglė says that her creative and artistic activity is not alien to her, since the girl graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts and has a master’s degree in graphics.
“Baking is my new hobby, artistic self-expression. At the moment, I make cakes for friends and family, so it is not a job, but a way to spend my free time. I don’t think I can call myself a pastry chef”, says Miglė .

A new hobby
The interviewee admits that, in part, the new hobby can be blamed for the COVID-19 pandemic, as he was able to discover more new ideas in the winter with more time.
“I baked the first Easter cake. We had to turn around, because we celebrated without parents and without grandparents, we wanted to create something fun, ”says the girl.
Migl says he put the first cake, a hare, on the “Karantino Kuchnia” Facebook page, and there it received a lot of attention. This inspired the little girl to keep trying to bake cakes for parents and friends.
It’s not an easy job
The girl does not hide that baking such cakes is hard and tedious work.
“It takes two days to bake a cake. At night I make a cake and the next day the decoration begins, which sometimes takes up to 10 hours. Sometimes I start in the afternoon and finish at midnight. The more I try to do it with more care, the longer it takes, ”says the interlocutor.
Mist says the hardest cake so far was the pine cone the girl baked for the cake tournament: “It was just my fourth cake, now I would probably do everything a little differently.”
“Falling from the Moon”
When asked where to look for inspiration, Mist says that most of the time she draws inspiration from the holidays, the seasons, and nature.
“For example, I made the pineapple because it was intended for the Druskininkai cake tournament, I wanted it to reflect the nature of Druskininkai. Cold borscht is associated with summer, and most Lithuanians like it very much, too. You can say that the inspiration comes from the environment, from what I see on social networks, ”says Miglė.
The girl created the Facebook page recently, in June: “I created the page because of the cake tournament. He wanted more people to see what he was doing. I also wanted my cakes to be in one place. “
When asked how she came up with the idea of creating such an original name “Fallen from the Moon”, the girl laughs: “We usually use this saying for strange people or even sailors, so I thought these cakes are like that. – fallen from the moon “.
People are often surprised that such strange and colorful cakes can be eaten, which is why Miglė says that they seem to have come from somewhere else because they remember things completely different from cake.
At the moment, Mist doesn’t sell cakes, but says that if there is a very high interest level, consider that idea. Now only the girl’s family, friends and relatives can enjoy these unique cakes.
