The fight must begin before you settle down
Gintaras Riauba, a biologist at the Ornithological Society, says action must be taken against swallows before they settle.
“You have to fight the swallows before they settle. The already twisted nests should not be destroyed in any way and disturb the time of reproduction and passage of these birds. This is a crime against nature, because the birds are part of biological diversity, ”says Gintaras Riauba, a biologist with the Lithuanian Ornithological Society.
To prevent birds from entering enclosed spaces, landing on roofs, window sills, ledges, special nets, lubricated repellants, fastening nails and spring wires are most often used, write the representatives of the company “Dezinfa” in their Press release.
Experts warn that it is important that birds do not congregate and do not congregate in areas sensitive to contamination, near food production companies, apartment buildings.
If the swallows have already settled in the shelter, you will have to befriend them – twisted nests cannot be destroyed in any way. When nests are broken, reproduction and transition processes are disrupted.

According to the biologist, in the frequent places of rotation of the nests, in the corners, it is only necessary to adhere shiny plastic strips that would be filmed with the wind. It is also possible to put a slick and shiny strip in the corners, to which the swallows could not turn their nests.
Birds also transmit diseases
Swallows and other birds also transmit diseases: avian tuberculosis, salmonellosis, ornithosis. Pests and bacteria often breed in their nests, which can settle in people’s homes when they come from the nests. This is another thing to protect your balconies and shelters.
People whose birds roll their nests on their balconies and shelters often suffer from skin beetles, moths, fly suckers, fleas, bed bugs, or even bird mites.
Bird nests can even clog roof gutters or drains. As a result, the water accumulates in the pipes and thus the roof structure is destroyed, the floors of the buildings can be weakened, and the air conditioning and ventilation systems are clogged.
