The Presidency notes that the First Ladies of Lithuania and Poland are sponsoring the international conference “Accessibility of information for persons with disabilities” to be held tomorrow at the Presidency.
On the eve of the event, the guests were interested in the best practices of the National Library to address the accessibility problems of the appropriate environment: infrastructure and information.
The general director of the library prof. Dr. Renaldas Gudauskas told how Lithuanian libraries adapt to people with different needs, showed a new service space for the visually impaired, spoke about the non-traditional services of the National Library, the activities of television studios, the media and the creative workshops of PATS SAU.
Polish First Lady A. Kornhauser-Duda learned about the early reading promotion project “Book Start” under the auspices of Ms. D. Nausėdienė, which aims to raise children for the first time in Lithuania. The importance of reading, giving them the tools and knowledge they need.
