The Lithuanian 3×3 team has successfully started the European Championship qualifying competition, which takes place in Constanta, Romania.
Lithuania, which ranks second in the Group B match, has no difficulty 21: 9 beat the Irish basketball players.
Aurelijus Pukelis scored 9 points, Šarūnas Vingelis added 7 points, Darius Tarvydas stood out with 4 points, Modestas Kumpys scored.

Our group’s struggles ended with a duel with Sakartwell, which was extremely difficult. The rivals were ahead all the time, but when adjusting in the last minute and ours had a point disadvantage (14:15), both Šarūnas Vingelis and Darius Tarvydas did not hit two-point shots, although they were completely free. Finally, Aurelijus Pukelis tied the score – 15:15. With 1.9 seconds to go, D.Tarvydas was stopped, who lost the first fine, but realized the second and thus snatched the victory – 16:15.
The Lithuanians reached the quarterfinals, where they will meet with representatives of Great Britain. The victory would secure a place in the European Championship in France in September.
