Preparations are currently underway for the third flower festival, inspired by W. Shakespeare’s romantic comedy “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Surprise visitors each time with the abundance of flowers, colorful florist compositions and original sculptures created especially for the festival.

One of them is a sculpture of Pak, a character from W. Shakespeare’s play, which is almost 20 feet tall. Its author is the artist, sculptor Andrius Petkus. A huge horny Pakas will emerge from the vegetation of the manor park and flower arrangements poisonous to humans will be injured nearby.

According to Žydrūnė Valainytė, the landscaper of the VU Šiauliai Academy Botanical Garden, poisonous plants are most often found in everyday settings – representatives of the rust and potato families. “Often phytolacs and dictons also grow in kindergartens. Some plants are poisonous for their leaves, juice, others for fruits. Some of the poisonous plants, such as castor bean, tansy, are also known as medicinal plants, and the line between medicine and poison is sometimes very fragile ”, explained a spokeswoman for the botanical garden that prepares the poisonous shade of the festival of the flowers.

An impressive installation of the Castle of the Flower Kingdom, created by set designer Marija Rubavičiūtė, is being completed for the opening of the Flower Festival. It is reminiscent of childhood in the 19th century. pab.
