“Prime Minister Šimonytė is openly pressuring the STT and law enforcement agencies through her public speeches in the media,” explained M. Puidokas in the Seimas on Tuesday.
After receiving a question from journalists about the “employee’s” statement, the Prime Minister first checked whether M. Puidokas had actually spoken about it.
“Well, here is probably the Syrian news agency …”, – after a long pause, I. Šimonytė answered the question of the journalists.
The Prime Minister noted that she had not spoken at all to law enforcement officials about the corruption case of Ms. Puidoko’s assistant. He also emphasized that he was not even speaking to the group’s colleague, Matu Maldeikis, who had informed the STT of a possible bribe offered him by Mr. Puidoko’s assistant.
“I have no serious comment to make. Absurd. I have not spoken to anyone in the police about this case. I know quite a bit about her. From the legislation adopted I can infer what the circumstances are. But not even Matas Maldeikis has told me the details, because he cannot do much, and I fully respect the Penal Code and would never, ever interfere in the proceedings of a particular case, ”the Prime Minister assured in Puidoko’s speeches.
“It just came to our attention then. If it was said in public, I will think about what to do with it,” said I. Šimonytė.
