Mačiulis explained why he went to greet the participants of the march: hiding would have been ugly, Nausėda thought about going out.

The organizers decided to end the third day of protest not by protesting, but by supporting President G. Nausėdas in the Presidency.

“Dear Gitanes, we are writing to you. We are your constituents, thank you very much for sending your speech to the “March for the Defense of the Family”, let us thank the President for that, “said Viktoras Jašinskas, one of the organizers of the event, from the stage on Thursday.

The protesters call on G. Nausėda to release the Seimas.

“Thank you, but Lithuania no longer needs the work of its Seimas members. And you, President, can do it, I am sure we believe you can,” said Eduardas Vaitkus.

Mr. Nausėda had not gone anywhere on Thursday. According to the agenda, he was in the Presidency. P. Mačiulis, the head of G. Nausėda’s internal policy group, comes to speak with the protesters.

“First of all, thank you for your activity,” he said.

He told the protesters that there were many signs of concern about what was happening in Lithuania. First, if the Seimas does not pass the Referendum Law before July 1, citizens will lose the right to a referendum.

“There are many opinions of politicians and government officials on the need to ask for the opinion of citizens. You need to ask for an opinion. “By referendum or by polls,” he said.

Mr. Mačiulis conveyed “sincere wishes” to the protesters of President G. Nausėda.

“You are probably well aware that some politicians are also trying to expel the President of the European Council (EVS),” said P. Mačiulis.

His words were accompanied by shouts of protesters “we will not allow”.

One of the organizers of the rally, Antanas Kandrotas, after Fr. Mačiulis’s speech, said that he was happy with it.

“Clearly the only representatives that seem to listen to the people,” Kandrotas said.

Mr Mačiulis said that the Presidency had received an invitation, so hiding it would have been ugly.

“The president was thinking of leaving, but he cannot do it due to the busy schedule,” explained the adviser.

The march to the Presidency lasts less than an hour. No one sings the hymn here anymore.

On Wednesday, the government protested at noon, but no one came out to speak.

“It just came to our notice then. Because Matas Maldeikis came to speak and, well, it didn’t seem like someone really wanted to talk to someone, let’s just say it,” Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė told reporters at the Seimas on Thursday.

A lawsuit was filed for protesting against the conservative M. Maldeikis by the protesters in uncensored words. However, the politician himself is asking the police to stop the investigation.

“I knew where I was going,” he said.

And the protesters don’t promise to stop.

“The forces that have been gathered now are too few to make any impression. Probably I. Šimonytė said he didn’t see the need. We will wait for this until we gather about 100,000 in Lithuania near the Seimas, ”said Arvydas Daunys, one of the LNK organizers.

An administrative process has also been initiated for a possible violation of the Assemblies Law. Because the mayor of Vilnius Remigijus Šimašius did not give permission for this protest.

And Prime Minister I. Šimonytė pointed out that the “Family Defense March” in Vingis Park, when the epidemiological situation was much worse, gave permission.

“It’s probably not very easy to explain why that decision was different,” said I. Šimonytė.

After visiting the Presidency, the protesters continue to return to the Seimas, where it has installed its headquarters these days.

Here a performance is organized: a hearse supposedly leaves the Seimas. The protesters stop him and find the Constitution in the coffin.
