Bus cameras perpetuate nasty attack: inadequate response to driver requesting tickets

“Maybe there are ten of those cameras here on the bus. Every door is monitored, everything is there. Passengers should know and smile better than getting angry,” said the driver’s colleague.

Pictures on the bus show two men getting on the bus. They both sat down immediately. The driver repeatedly reminded them to book tickets, but the men did not react. The driver then demanded that the men climb outside, rather than one of them hitting the driver twice through the cavity between the driver and the passenger.

When the driver escaped from the cabin, the passenger jumps up, fires tear gas twice and further crushes the driver.

“There are small children standing next to you, probably eight years old, perhaps another even smaller, but unfortunately there are people so strong that they do not care about the environment, the children, the public place or an employee who performs well. Inside, a couple of meters back, they were sitting in a wheelchair, with their newborn parents, ”said Vaidas Ramanauskas, head of the Klaipėda Bus Fleet.

The driver needed medical help and had to wash his eyes.

“For one euro, it is really hard to believe how to treat such a person,” the young Klaipėda was surprised.

“I’m getting into the last stop, we’re having fun and everything. I can’t imagine those people could happen either,” said another woman.

The staff of the bus fleet were surprised by the reaction of the passengers.

“The strangest thing was that the other passengers did not reach the driver, there were also men, but those little children came in and asked if everything was okay for the driver. The adults did not come to help or care for them, ”said V. Ramanauskas.

Some drivers have already received tear gas attacks on the job.

“I stopped at a stoplight, jumped out of the car and ran towards me. I thought maybe you wanted to ask something. I opened the box and they gasped for me. Another driver recalled a strange woman who had not stopped screaming in any way and threatened dismissal, but said she felt safe because there were cameras installed everywhere.

Sometimes, drivers say, passengers take away the tickets and run away. Muskets are generally not caught, but there are exceptions. Once, the driver even withheld three pliers, because he did not appreciate the fact that he had once participated in boxing championships.
