A Russian who showed a false document was unable to enter Lithuania, and two Lithuanians were caught at the airport.

Late Thursday night, Lavoriškės Border Guard officers from the SBGS Vilnius Border Team, working at the Lavoriškės checkpoint, checked the documents of the Iveco truck and attached trailer. Both vehicles are marked with Russian license plates.

The identity documents of the 42-year-old Russian citizen who was driving the truck were spotless, but border guards were suspicious because of the trailer’s Russian registration certificate. According to preliminary data, it is a partial forgery.

In total, SBGS agents arrested 252 people wanted by Lithuanian and foreign police institutions this year.

The Lavorišk agentes firewall agents took the suspicious document and wrote a refusal to allow the foreigner to enter Lithuania. The Russian had to return to Belarus on a tractor with a trailer.

Earlier on Wednesday morning at Vilnius airport, border guards detained a 32-year-old Vilnius resident who was ready to fly to the English capital, London. This year, SBGS agents arrested a total of 252 people, who were wanted by Lithuanian and foreign law enforcement institutions for various reasons.
