This year, the entire city of Kaunas became a courtyard, a space, and the organizers invited to seek spontaneous and improvised performances and artistic installations in the spaces of the city of Kaunas.
The festive events took place near Sobor, A. Mickevičiaus Street, Laisvės Alley near the fountain, Maironio Street, near the municipality of Kaunas.
“Ancient Kashpirovskis Teeth”, KTU wind group “The BrassBees” offered concerts to townspeople and city guests, performances were organized by Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, Aura Dance Theater, the Ulna Dance Group, Šešios cuttings community, Stuba Zapyškis made a contract – in a few hours the city became a large cultural space.
According to Simona Savickaitė, coordinator of the Kaunas 2022 Fluxus Labas! Community program, the cultural institutions of Kaunas longed for communication, the desire to be together; most of them are also neighbors who agreed to share their talents during the Kiemų šventė.
As S. Savickaitė said, the quarantine period did not become an obstacle for communities to continue forming and fostering friendship: program for the European Capital of Culture event.
The projects are also continued by the Kaunas communities, organizations from various sectors, who have been participating in Fluxus Labas!
