However, the Americans responded with three unanswered points and with 28 seconds left, the teams were already separated by a single point – 19:20. Immediately after that, Darius Tarvydas lost the ball, and Joey King stabbed a long shot and snatched the USA win – 21:20.
Vingelis, who then crawled to Lithuania, scored 12 points. Tarvydas added 4, Kumpys – 3 and Pukelis – 1 point.
The United States national team was led by a duo of King and Kareem Maddox. These basketball players scored 8 points each. Dominique Jones added 3 points and Robbie Hummel added 2 points.
Four from Aurelijus Pukelis, Šarūnas Vingelis, Darius Tarvydas and Modestas Kumpis in the first match 21: 9 swept Kazakh basketball players.
Tarvydas was the most productive among the Lithuanians, who scored 10 points and closed the match with two precise points.
Pukelis scored 5 points, Vingelis – 4 and Kumpys – 2.
