On Saturday it was still hot in Lithuania, in most of the country the heat was 26-29 degrees. The hottest was in the vicinity of Alytus, Varėna, Vilnius, and the coldest on the coast: in Palanga, Klaipėda, weather forecaster Simona Dalinkevičiūtė told LRT Radio.
According to the Hydrometeorological Service, from noon there will be short rains in many places, strong thunderstorms in some places, and it is likely that there will be hail, and the gusts of wind will intensify.
Sunday will be a little cooler, because the already formed ball clouds travel through the country’s western districts, Klaipėda, Telšiai County, there will be thunderstorms. Thunderstorm clouds are also pouring from the east of the country to Belarus. There will still be rain in the first half of the night, but the second half will be calmer, the meteorologist said. However, according to her, the temperature at night will remain very similar to the last nights, between 15-20 degrees. As early as noon on Sunday, it will rain again in many areas and will not allow the temperature to reach 30 degrees. On Sunday, the weather will warm to 23-28 degrees. The coldest will be in Samogitia and the warmest in southeastern Lithuania.
At the beginning of the week, the heat will cool down a bit. The first few days of next week will remain wet, windy. The temperature will rise to about 27 degrees. However, starting on Wednesday, the heat will return again, the rain will decrease and it will be very hot again, weather forecast S. Dalinkevičiūtė said.
