Police officers who staged an ambush early Sunday morning detained four people at the Kėdainiai district farm, suspected of acquiring stolen items.
Kaunas criminals arrested the thief immediately after the crime in neighboring Latvia, where on the same night near the Lithuanian border, people from a local farmer stole agricultural chemicals and a riding mower worth a total of around 28,000. euros.
During the investigation, officials also discovered that the same people committed another robbery in Latvia exactly one week ago, stealing agrochemicals and producing 11,000. Material damage.
During the operation, the suspects also found items stolen in a neighboring country: a lawn tractor and chemicals.
The suspects are residents of K ciudaddainiai city and district who were known to the police and had been convicted of robbery and other crimes several times before, born in 1978, 2000, 1990, 1987.
All four people were taken into custody.
Due to the crimes committed, Kaunas County LSC forensic scientists are cooperating with Latvian law enforcement, whose officials have launched two pre-trial investigations into the seizure of high-value foreign property.
