And in early December last year, this psychotropic substance was enriched in 10 squares of paper, which was glued to a sheet of graph paper and, after putting it in an envelope, sent a prison sentence by mail to his brother Audrius Zakarkas , who was serving a sentence at the Prison Hospital.

The letter was sent without problems from the Marijampol Correctional Centerė. When he arrived at the Prison Hospital in Pravieniškės, officers from the Criminal Intelligence Department went to work. They discovered that the letter contained psychotropic substances, so Mr. Zakarkai did not transmit it.

“I wanted to congratulate my brother on his birthday and put 10 boxes of psychotropic substances on the letter,” said Zakarka, saying that he was evil in his actions and regretted such a gift.

The court that heard the criminal case determined that S. Zakarka’s responsibility was facilitated by his confession and remorse, but aggravated by the fact that he had committed the crime as a repeat offender, he had been convicted eleven times before.

„S. Zakarka, acting with direct intention, committed a felony, previously convicted, committed a sentence while serving a prison, “said Judge R. Balsevičienė, who examined the criminal case on the illegal acquisition, possession and distribution of psychotropic substances.

The judge decided to extend the prison sentence: he will be released after 4 years and 3 months.
