When you see Povilas, it is not difficult to understand why he is called Golden Boy: his fingers are decorated with gold rings, on his neck, a gold chain, even his clothes have gold-colored details. The man told the tv3.lt portal that he is not afraid of those nicknames, on the contrary, now it is called that.
“A television called me Golden Boy, I don’t know, maybe a joke, maybe how, but it stuck with me. Others don’t remember my name, like many others, but the Golden Boy held on very quickly, ”said P. Vainutis.
The first money traveled for gold
When asked where the great love for gold and luxury came from, Povilas says that he does not know himself, it all came by itself and he began to accumulate a collection of gold jewelry as soon as he could afford it.
“I started to get interested when I could buy it. The first money I had that I had, I was able to get rid of it, when others bought some motorcycles or tried to save on the car, my money was spent on gold.”
The man does not hide the fact that all members of the family love gold, but, as he jokes, in others it is not as sharp as in himself.
Povilas cannot boast of having a large collection and says that he meets much richer people with much more gold. However, although small, the collection is very expensive for him, and each jewel is like that of a child.
“Oh, I don’t have a large collection. I think there are people richer than me who have even more. But I am one of those who really uses, does not buy and gives up. I know people who have seen, heard, where the gold is held triliter. Just for sloikus intertwined. But who would you have them for? If you don’t wear them, what good is it? I’d rather have a small handful, but I use them all, I love them, they make me happy. It is better to have a gold box and never wear a single ring ”, opened the Šiauliai nicknamed the Golden Boy.
However, not all gold sparkles with gold, the collection is made of jewelry. It is true that Povilas himself rarely decorates it and bought it for the guests, because he keeps gold items like his own eyes and does not like to give them to others.
“It just came to our knowledge then. Just because with gold everywhere at night I can’t get anywhere because it’s dangerous. I have a jewel, but I bought more for my friends. Just because everyone who comes to me, if there are meetings, everyone wants to feel me, at least one night, in gold and they still ask me what kind of jewelry to wear, although to enjoy that night, “said the interlocutor.
Minimalist style, not for him
Povilas appreciates not only his collection of gold items, but also an apartment in Šiauliai. Everything in the museum is here: gilded mirrors, ancient sculptures, various antiques. For many, this way of life is unusual, but Povilas says minimalism is not for him.
“From what I have been with the guests, most live in a minimalist style or do not value the environment or things at all. And I am more aesthetic, the environment is very important to me. And that is why the culture of museums, palaces and mansions impresses me. That is the style I want to live ”, said the interlocutor.
Most of the furniture in his home was bought at flea stores. And you don’t have to look far: there are many shops in Šiauliai where you can find everything you need. As he says, almost the most remote place in his hometown, from where he had to buy something: Kaunas.
“All that with me is only old-fashioned products, from where they come from Germany to us, England, Denmark, Sweden. I only buy in Lithuania, it is not worth much to transport from abroad or I have to buy a very large quantity, I almost have to send a container. And where do you put it if you live in a flat? Šiauliai is full of second-hand shops and there are even bases where you bring and distribute in Lithuania, people get engaged professionally, they bring containers, a lot of antiques, and then everything travels all over Lithuania. It’s not a big goal to travel from another city when you know that Šiauliai is the center where others come to buy. “
When asked which purchase was the most expensive, P. Vainutis assures: it is something very subjective that may seem cheap for one, but expensive for another. However, he himself says not to buy furniture or interior details that seem too expensive. And now I would like to buy lamps, but hoping for a more affordable price.
“You know, I never buy expensive things, there has to be a relationship between the mind and the visual beauty, the price. I never look for the most expensive. And it is expensive … I say to one, let’s say, the set costs 1,500 is a lot, and to another – very cheap, they say, they cost 4,500 thousand. Well, something is expensive for someone here.
I have come to realize that when it comes to furniture, it all starts around a thousand. That the bee is less expensive, it may be more expensive. If you want to buy something prettier, better, you have to have 1000 euros. If you bought cheaper, you will, okay. Now, especially when calculating when the litas were, there were cheaper prices for the litas. It seemed expensive then, now you realize that it was 3 times cheaper there. “
To travel, travel abroad
The question probably arises as to what responsibilities you must occupy in order to live in luxury. Povilas is not hiding: in Lithuania the earnings are too low, so she has to travel abroad to earn money.
“Before I worked, I earned a lot, compared to Lithuania, I earned there 10 times more than here. That allowed me to buy what I wanted: antiques, jewelry of some kind. Living in Lithuania and working here, there would not be even half of what it is, ”the interlocutor opened.
Very often, a man goes to the Scandinavian countries – Sweden, Norway, Denmark and accepts all kinds of jobs, because he is not afraid of work and, as he says, he is an ordinary person.
“I’m an ordinary person, it doesn’t matter if I like to dress smartly and live beautifully, but I can go to any job, if it pays me well there, I can do that job, whatever it is, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter at all.
If I go to work, I go to work, even if there is fish or some other kind of work in the factory. I can work in various jobs, I am an ordinary person, I am not afraid of any job ”.
In her spare time, Povilas likes to participate in creative activities: her pictures are painted on the walls of the apartment. Although there is not a single wall that is not decorated with your own creations, it is still not enough.
“All my paintings are here. There is only a loss, an economic expense, here is an expensive hobby that is very expensive. I do not sell my artwork to sell, I did not even set myself such goals. I will not get much for that, and that the kopecks give away my work, which is my beloved and I like it, it does not make sense. I’m keeping it to myself because I haven’t completed everything I want for myself yet. The second is a lot, ”Šiauliai taught about future plans.
When asked with a laugh if there will be enough space on the walls for all the masterpieces, the man is not lost, it will definitely be enough, because the painting process takes time and manages to create several paintings a year.
“It is not me who does 10 or more jobs a month. There is no work here for me, it is just a pleasure for me and every year he even brings his own line, his own ideas and they are all different. I have seen for years if I am improving or if I forget something. It’s my hobby, which costs me dearly, and I think I’ll paint for the rest of my life if there are still fires. “
Friends list: Lithuanian stars
When he visits P. Vainutis’ social networks, he blinks in several photos, but almost the most striking ones with stars. For example, Povilas has been in contact with Ruslan Kirilkin for two decades.
“I met Ruslan at a nightclub. I just come. We talk there, then we meet by accident, still by accident. I go somewhere in the cities to the clubs, I’m there and somehow we met naturally. Then he came to Šiauliai, then we were already Facebook friends and he invited me to a concert, I invited him as a guest. He came to visit. It is so beautiful, over a long period of time, little by little, ”said the man about the acquaintance.
Aušrine Armonaitė, a politician, is also on Facebook. He also met her unexpectedly: after founding the party branch in Šiauliai, Povilas was invited to visit her, where he met A. Armonaitė for the first time. As he says, he spoke, took photos and even became a member of the party.
Povilas is sad because he did not have time to meet his old friend Eugene Ostapenko, and conversations with him were quite frequent: he called to speak or to raise a glass of champagne.
“Before he died, he wrote another day,” says Povila, “they should drink champagne together.” Since I also like to have fun and he is such a fun person, we plan to go on TV with his guests. He had promised to give me gold shoes. He says: “Povilai, I won’t need them, I can give them to him. I already filmed the song, let those shoes accompany you.” Well, we agreed. We call it intensely. He is having dinner, he is also a lonely person, like me, either to have a glass of champagne or to chat ”, recalls the interlocutor in communication with the interpreter.
The secret of a friendship with the stars is respect and keeping the tongue behind the teeth. Paul himself does not hide knowing more than he should, but he keeps everything a secret. Mutual trust has become the guarantee of a long friendship.
“There are no big secrets, I just know more than I should. Still, there has to be some boundary between the stars and the ordinary. I don’t consider myself a star, I’m an ordinary person, maybe a little weirder than the rest, I know. I don’t know anymore, I don’t build any kind of wall specifically if they want to be open with me and stay. I don’t demand openness from them. If you want, a person will speak, I will listen, I will accept it as it is, we will speak, we will speak. I will never say what I don’t need. “
