I’d like 60 cents for a Mirabelle seedling. I’m at the market on Saturdays, but if one person just wants to, they can come and see me in town. I sell directly from the nursery, ”suggested Inga Kuzminienė, a cucumber grower who has been growing cucumbers for many years.

Market prices for tomato, cucumber or pepper seedlings fluctuated on Saturday morning: traders offered the cheapest seedlings at 50 cents a unit, well, and the most expensive at a price of one euro a unit.

The seeds are purebred, not crossed, as only one and the same variety was grown in the fields each year.

The rind of the watermelons we grow is darker, sweeter and “meaty” than those sold in stores, “explained merchant Lukas Ardavičius.
