Karolis Aidulis, the director of Reef, says he understood the building’s uniqueness and enduring value as soon as he saw it.

“Although abandoned for more than two decades, the building is still impressive, I was fascinated by the late modernism architecture and the unique interior and exterior elements that survive. Buildings of modern construction are usually the same whether they are in the capital or on the coast. This building was designed with quality rest on the Lithuanian coast in mind, its spaces are exceptional, but at the same time it is in harmony with the surrounding nature – we will try to keep it all in the new project, ”he said.

The building was built in 1987. designed by Irena Likšienė, who was awarded for her merits in architecture. In addition to Šilkas’ former holiday homes, Irena and Gintautas Likša built or rebuilt 14 more buildings in Palanga, including the Tenisas, Du broliai and Žydroji liepsna hotels, the children’s music school, Šachmatinė and the Bank of Lithuania recreation center. . The works of these architects stood out from the drawing of post-Soviet architecture, and their creative solutions were revived in the Palanga Dreams apartments.

“We will revive the wavy and curved balconies and columns on the front and sides of the building. We will also restore square skylights. We will maintain an impressive size of luxurious rooftop terraces. We will leave very spacious common areas, the entrances to the apartments will not be through the closed corridor, but through the internal balconies. From them, you will see a large hall with a 7 meter high ceiling, such a luxury is no longer in modern construction. Eventually, even the green area at the intersection of the streets, which was also during the building’s prosperity, will be restored, ”says Reina’s partner, Lina Baronait, on how the building’s history will be reborn in the new project.

Palanga Dreams will have only 22 vacation apartments in total, in order to maintain spacious and bright 2-4 bedroom accommodation. The three-story building will be equipped with 2 elevators, and the safety of residents will be ensured by the area monitored by cameras.

“We want to offer future residents apartments where everything is thought out to the last detail so that they can live and relax comfortably and with the highest quality. For all the apartments, the interior designer Agnė Stanikūnaitė-Pocienė together with the artistic director Auguste Šiupinyte created and designed individual interiors, including 3 exclusive interior options for each apartment.

Some apartments have a ceiling height of 5 meters, an elevator inside the apartment, several balconies or a large terrace. The sea, the park, the city center – everything is within walking distance ”, – K. Aidulis names the uniqueness of the Palanga Dreams apartments.

The first residents will be able to move into the Palanga Dreams apartments this summer.
