David Sirvydis got a few minutes on the court of the National Basketball Association (NBA) this season, but in the last game against the Philadelphia 76ers, Dwane Casey gave the Lithuanian a chance to act.

D.Sirvydis scored 8 points (1/2 dvit., 2/4 trit.) In 24 minutes, he bounced 6 balls, made a successful pass and committed 2 times. In this way, he improved his career performance and rebounding.

After the game, Detroit Pistons coach D. Casey received many questions about the Lithuanian and praised him for the opportunity.

“It just came to our notice then. David played in Europe, last season in Israel, he’s been in basketball his whole life and he’s one of the best pitchers on our team. No one on our team works as hard as he does.

The most important thing for him is to get physically stronger. I don’t know when that will happen, but he will become a good player, I tell you, he works hard and is not afraid to play against Embiida or Howard, which is not common for a rookie. It’s good to see him seize the opportunity and work hard.

I just think he’s missing a game in the Development League; experience in him or in the Summer League would help him grow, “said D. Casey.

The Lithuanian himself said that his performance became a boost for him and a good motivation to keep going.

“It just came to our attention then. You have to work hard every day, then you have a chance. Today we had a good game.

It is not easy when you do not have so many minutes, they all say the same thing, but it is a psychological question. Today I felt another feeling and freedom. I felt how my colleagues supported me and helped me, ”said the Lithuanian.
