This disease reports itself in a variety of symptoms. Initially, patients experience aggression, anxiety, depression, muscle aches, and spasms. Some patients suffered from insomnia, speech disorders. Roger Ellis, a New Brunswick resident in his seventies, experienced many of the above symptoms. He was plagued by hallucinations, he kept repeating the same words, and his body weight dropped very quickly. Finally, when he could no longer walk, Ellis’s loved ones were invited to the hospital to say goodbye to the dying man. Only the doctors could not explain what took his life. The mysterious disease completely paralyzed and killed a previously healthy man in about three months.
Of course, during those three months, the doctors worked fiercely to find out what Ellis was fed up with. They have done a lot of research and have proven the likelihood of even the rarest diseases. Doctors thought that Ellis might have been poisoned by toxins from his environment, but what? In 1987, a domoic acid poisoning, which somehow got into food, was recorded in the neighboring province of Prince Edward Island. However, the researchers could not confirm that it was this substance that caused Ellis’ brain degeneration.
Worst of all, there are already 48 cases of the disease in the province of New Brunswick. In fact, scientists do not even know if it is a single disease. Many people experienced similar symptoms. Who caused them, nobody knows.
