On Saturday night, when there were 100 AstraZeneca vaccines left in the Litexpo vaccination center, the municipality announced that it was looking for a hundred people who wanted to be vaccinated with the first vaccine. Places filled in less than half an hour.

The proposal was announced on his Facebook account by Karolis Žukauskas, advisor to the mayor of Vilnius municipality.

After contacting K.Žukauskas, he stated that such a low age limit had been changed due to the fact that vaccines would be used as soon as possible. “The vaccines are thawed and if we don’t use them tonight, they will have to be thrown away. We need a hundred people, so if we still had prioritized, we certainly wouldn’t have that many. Other cities do the same, just with different strategies.” 15 minutes commented.

The politician said that a hundred vaccinations were carried out on Saturday due to interruptions in the registry.

Adomas Bužinskas, a member of the Vilnius City Council, who shared a colleague’s post on Facebook, compared the situation to “vaccine games”.

“The vaccine games begin. There are 100 vaccines left that we do not want to spill, so we invite everyone over 18 to Litexpo. The vaccine supermen will work until 9:00 pm,” the politician wrote.
