The Indiana Pacers took action against an assistant coach who had a conflict with a student during the game.
Journalist Adrian Wojnarowski announces that coach Greg Foster has been suspended for one match and a fine has been imposed on Gog Bitadze, who is in conflict with him.
However, it is noted that Foster maintained a close relationship with Bitadze throughout the season and should continue.
The incident occurred at the Pacers at 59:80, when the cartel stormed the defense and the Indiana team immediately called for a minute off. Before that, Bitadze missed Moe Harkless on defense without any resistance and received comments from Foster about his unwavering efforts to make it difficult for the opponent to fight his way to the basket.
In another attack, Bitadze hit a triple and, running, yelled at the assistant, adding an expletive.
“Sit down,” the potato told the Pacers coach.
After a minute’s rest, Foster got up from his chair and began berating Bitadze from a distance, soon beginning to approach his student demonstratively.
A group of Pacers players got in his way, and club stars Myles Turner and Jeremy Lamb tried to stop him.
Domantas Sabonis, who was in the middle, shook her head, not understanding what was happening.
When passions seemed to subside and Foster retired, a moment later the Pacers’ assistant returned to Bitadze, surrounded by teammates who expressed their support.
Bitadze scored 5 points (1/2 double, 1/2 trit), 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocking shots and 3 personal fouls in a 21-minute game against Kings.
In 2019, the Pacers invested 18 newcomers to the lineup. Foster has been working in Indianapolis since the beginning of the season, when Nate Bjorkgren took over the club.
