COVID-19 has claimed the lives of two more young people: almost 100 people have died from the disease before the age of 50.

Eglė Vankevičė, acting advisor to the Statistics Dissemination and Communication Division of the Lithuanian Statistics Department, told the Delfi portal that both men under the age of 50, whose deaths were reported on Tuesday, died yesterday, May 3. The cause of his death was the COVID-19 disease. External causes of death are not included.

A person under the age of 40 died in the Panevėžys city municipality and was between 40 and 49 years old. The death of a man belonging to the age group was recorded in the Jonava district municipality.

The death of another young man in the 30-39 age group was announced last week, April 29. It is true that his death was confirmed on March 28, but data from the Department of Statistics was recorded almost a month later.

A total of 15 people died from COVID-19 last day. Physicians reported primary, immediate, and intermediate causes of death or other significant pathological condition in 25 deaths to COVID-19 disease or related information. External causes of death are not included in this group.

Another 25 people died not from COVID-19 but with a positive diagnostic test no longer than four weeks.

To date, five people between the ages of 20 and 29, 24-30-39 and 60-40-49 have died of COVID-19.

Most of the people who died from COVID-19 infection were in the 80 to 89 age group. 1,441 deaths of this type were recorded. In the last day alone, 6 people belonging to this age group died.

1091 deceased belonged to 70-79 years. age group. Three people in this age group died on the last day.

641 people died of COVID-19 between the ages of 60 and 69. One of them died last day.

413 people died between the ages of 90 and 99.

COVID-19 also claimed the lives of 296 people in the 50-59 age group.
