It wasn’t Barcelona’s most pleasant visit to St. Petersburg that lasted much longer than planned, but Šarūnas Jasikevičius and the company finally returned to Catalonia on Saturday night.
On Friday, after a lost game, Barcelona did not return home due to a damaged plane and the delegation spent the night in Russia.
The flight home was scheduled for 3:30 pm on Saturday, but it was not on time either. The Catalans finally took off at 5:00 p.m. for a flight of about four hours, without indicating the reason for the delay.
Fortunately, Barcelona have no matches scheduled in the ACB championship this weekend, so the returning Catalans will be able to focus on the devastating battle with Zenit in Saint Petersburg.
On Friday, unmatched by Xavi Pascual’s troop, the Catalans found themselves on the brink of shock when the three-win quarter-final score became 2-2.
The fifth game in Barcelona is scheduled for Tuesday, but its date is subject to change.
