The adventure on the closed track required a tractor, a car and an American truck. When these cars were parked on the starting line, it was checked who would win the pull race.
Why traction? After all, under the Ford F-Max’s heavy-duty hood, there is even a 12.7-liter diesel heart with impressive parameters. The engine is rated at 500 hp and a maximum torque of up to 2,500 Newton meters (Nm) – if horsepower could still match cars with this heavyweight, this torque could only be obtained by putting two supercars in one spot.
Finally, the Euro 6-compliant engine is mated to a 12-speed gearbox and its fuel tanks contain 1,340 liters of diesel and an additional 78 liters of AdBlue to reduce emissions.
First, the mighty Ford F-Max was joined by a little brother, the Ford Focus. Under the hood of this model is a 1-liter engine with a torque of 200 Nm. In other words, more than 10 times less than the great Ford F-Max.
However, the question of whether thousands of Newton meters would allow the truck to move fast enough to win the half-kilometer-long all-wheel drive race was soon resolved: the little Ford lunged forward like a bullet and easily passed the truck.
A more serious partner was chosen for the second trip: the Jeep Gladiator, which is more reminiscent of an SUV. The diesel engine of this model generates 650 Nm of torque. This time the start was smoother, but the car went forward moment by moment and prevented the DKV LIVE Truck of the Year from winning.
