In Lithuania, there are another 1,315 cases of British coronavirus and two cases from South Africa

In the laboratory of the Santara Clinics of the Vilnius University Hospital, 468 samples were examined, of which 387 were British varieties.

Here, a new case of the South African strain and eight cases of the B.1.620 virus line were also identified.

1047 samples were analyzed in the reference laboratory of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, of which 913 cases belong to the British line. In this laboratory, a new case of the South African strain and 21 new cases of the B.1.620 virus line were also identified.

24 samples were analyzed in the laboratory of the Vilnius University Life Sciences Center, 15 of them belong to the British line. Eight new cases of the B.1.620 virus line were also identified in this laboratory.

To date, a total of 7016 samples have been sequenced and 3534 cases of the British and 14 South African virus lines have been detected in Lithuania, according to the sequencing project coordinated by the NSPL.

The new strain B.1.620 to detect 61 cases, its danger, according to the laboratory, is still premature.
