Lithuanians who have never been invited before 28:34 (11:15) landed on the Israeli representatives and fell to the last, fourth place of the group, as they had won the first match between them with a smaller difference – 31:28.

The match started with a level fight and the teams were better attacking than defending, and after 10 minutes into the first half, the opponents were leading by a goal – 5: 4. Then the Lithuanian team fell into the pit and the Israeli handballers managed create a tangible advantage (12: 7), which they held until the break – 3:11 pm.

At the beginning of the second half, the Lithuanians reduced the distance to 3 goals and even had the opportunity to get closer to 2 several times, but the Lithuanians did not take their chances and the opponents started to move away. Midway through the second half, Israel already had a 7-goal lead (24:17), which they held until the final siren.

On Thursday, our team will face Iceland at home, and on Sunday, an away game with Portugal will complete the qualifying fights. During these two duels, it is necessary to score points to hold on to at least third place in the group, which gives a small chance of achieving it.

Aidenas Malašinskas, Jonas Truchanovičius and Valdas Drabavičius will already join the Lithuanian team in this match. Unfortunately, the team will not yet have the help of Deividas Virbauskas, Mindaugas Dumčius, Skirmantas Plėta and Vilius Rašimas and Benas Petreikis, who are suffering from coronavirus.

Mindaugas Urbonas, who scored 8 goals, Žanas Gabrielius Virbauskas scored 7, Gerdas Babarskas – 4, Mykolas Lapiniauskas – 3, Karolis Antanavičius, Tadas Rasakevičius – 2, Gytis Šmantauskas and Tadas Stankevičius – 1 each.

Opponents Amiel Sidi scored 11 goals, Yoavas Lumbroso – 7, Adir Cohen – 4, Ezra Hamami and Tal Herskowitz – 3 each, Eden Gingihassvhili – 2, Ramas Turkenitz – 1.
